Volunteering in sporting events in your community and in the region is your chance to become invlolved in the West Midlands for 2012 movement in advance of the London 2010 Games.

The link between regeneration and sports activities:  

Sports activities are commonly used as means of engaging communites with a view to improving neighbourhoods and contributing to community and social wellbeing. With the London 2012 Games just around the corner there has never been more emphasis on the economic, social and community benefits of getting involved in sporting activities. So there has never been a better time to invest some of your time in sports activities taking place near you.

70,000 volunteers will be required to help run the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and in the West Midlands another focus is to get people to volunteer for 2012 related programmes within the region as well as in London.

Major international sports events taking place in our region, the Culture programme and the Community Games provide great volunteering opportunities which will continue to grow as the West Midlands rolls out its legacy.
