About the organisation:   West Midlands European Service

We are a busy office in central Birmingham, funded from Europe and local government, who offer a free funding advice service to any organisation in the region. We offer free training, capacity building, project management, bid-writing support and feedback on EU funding applications. We work with other European partners to develop joint projects for local organisations. Our team has 8 members who work on different funding streams and travel across the region delivering events and one-to-one support.  To support this work we rely on good statistical data and reporting to develop maps of our success and analysis of our activities.

About the role:   Graduate Placement Role

We need to update a statistical report of data relating to the number of successful funding grants received in the West Midlands between 2007 – 2010.  We have the aggregate figures but need these breaking down year by year for each of our 5 funding programmes. The role requires contacting funding agencies to request the specific data and compiling a spreadsheet with the comparative figures, then assisting with some evaluation and analysis of the results.  There will also be liaison with a publishing company to produce an updated glossy document.  There will be other opportunities to assist with our training events around the region and to shadow other team members if interested.
